I love writing. Writing is the main reason I chose to test out of Lit Comp 10 and into American Lit this past summer. When I was little I would go on my mom's computer and write books, plays, poem, you name it! I could write for hours. Funnily enough, I never really finished any story. This was due to the fact that I would always start thinking of a new idea in the middle of the piece I was writing. Once my brain thought up a new one, that was all I could think about. Eventually I would start the new story. Of course, half way through that one I would think up another. That's how my Mom's computer still has at least 40 unfinished pieces on it, collecting electronic dust. I think one day I'll go through and read some of them to see how my writing has improved.
I still love to write. My favorite type of writing is creative writing, realistic fiction to be more specific. I prefer that to an essay or poem. However, if I have to write an essay for school on something I'm passionate about, I like to do that too. Generally the essays I really enjoy writing are persuasive essays. I like being able to state my opinion and try to show people how it's right.
I adore making up characters and plots. I love choosing what happens in a story. Deciding the way things go is so much fun. It's like making another world. It could be exactly the same as your life but you can pick where it goes. Writing is an escape from the real world for me.
